In The Company of Friends, there will soon be a new book to tempt us sampler lovers. I admit, I wasn`t too intrigued when I first saw the blurb in my inbox, esp when I saw the price, but I downloaded the
free preview, and I have to say it looks mighty interesting! I especially like that the author has provided contemporary information on the political climate and every day happenings that were occurring when the samplers were stitched. Knowing what was happening in the stitchers life when the sampler was stitched makes the history of the piece come to life! I also love English samplers, so that is another point in it`s favour.
The book looks nice, but on the small side ( I viewed the book beside a sampler
here). With a price tag of $92.95 USD, I will have to think carefully about it and perhaps wait for a review. What do you think, thrilled, or not so much?

Oooo that is a lot of money but I am going to have a peak.
I've been really looking forward to this book because I worked in Norfolk for 17 years, it's the next county to me. But the price!!!
